Cardiff & Met HC – U18 European Championship Representation

Cardiff & Met Hockey Club are proud that 10 of their
best junior talents have been selected to represent Wales throughout July in
the U18 Boys and Girls European Championships.

July brings a
flurry of junior international hockey as the European U18 Boys and Girls
championships take place across Europe. Across both squads, no less than 10 of
Cardiff & Met’s brightest young talents will represent Wales in the U18
Girls Championship II in Czech Republic and U18 Boys Championship II in
Cardiff.

For many of the
selected players, the journey to International hockey began at other clubs
within the Welsh hockey community. Cardiff & Met Hockey Club would like to
take this opportunity to acknowledge the fantastic work done by clubs
continually developing junior hockey opportunities, and providing a strong base
for player development.

As a club,
Cardiff & Met are pleased to be able to support some of the brightest welsh
talent across all ages towards National & International environments. Those
selected follow in the footsteps of the likes of Dan Kyriakides, Jacob Draper
& Ioan Wall, all of whom have progressed through the National Age Group
setup to represent Great Britain whilst at Cardiff & Met HC.

At Cardiff &
Met HC, we continually work to develop our knowledge to ensure a common
language, shared understanding and provision of appropriate learning
environments to challenge existing physical and mental capabilities. This,
alongside connected player support networks where individuals can link with
current and ex-internationals, coaches, players, family and friends, ensures
that players’ feel fully supported towards achieving their goals within competitive
environments.

Whilst we are
incredibly proud of the achievements and continued development of our selected
players, we are also respectful of all those that have played a part on their
international hockey journey so far. We
continue to acknowledge our role as a performance club and work in conjunction
with schools & clubs across South Wales to ensure that aspiring and
talented players are given the opportunities to achieve their goals at any
level.
